Wed Jun 25 20:40:00 UTC 2025: **Brewers Rookie Misiorowski Outduels Skenes in Electric Matchup, Hits 102.4 MPH**
**MILWAUKEE** – A record crowd packed American Family Field on Wednesday to witness a highly anticipated pitching duel between Milwaukee Brewers rookie Jacob Misiorowski and Pittsburgh Pirates star Paul Skenes, and Misiorowski emerged victorious in a 4-2 Brewers win.
Misiorowski, making just his third MLB start, dominated the Pirates lineup, scattering two singles and racking up eight strikeouts across five scoreless innings. He made history by unleashing a 102.4 mph fastball, the fastest pitch ever recorded by a Brewers pitcher. The Brewers are watching Misiorowski’s workload.
Skenes, the reigning NL Rookie of the Year, struggled against the Brewers’ patient approach. Milwaukee hitters capitalized on Skenes in the second inning, batting around and scoring four runs – the most Skenes has allowed in a single inning in his 40 MLB starts. The Brewers strung together a walk, four hits, and two run-scoring groundouts.
While some of the contact against Skenes was soft, the afternoon lived up to its billing as a showcase of power arms. Misiorowski threw 19 pitches over 100 mph, setting the tone from his very first offering.
Both pitchers reached triple digits on the radar gun, marking the seventh time in the pitch-tracking era (since 2008) that both starting pitchers have accomplished the feat in the same game.
Skenes lasted four innings, surrendering four runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Despite the rough outing, Skenes maintains a stellar 2.12 ERA and leads the National League in innings pitched with 106.
With an off day on Thursday, the Brewers pulled Misiorowski after five innings. His ERA now sits at 1.13 after three starts.
Baseball fans are eager to see more of these matchups between the two young stars.
