**MILWAUKEE** – A record crowd packed American Family Field on Wednesday to witness a highly anticipated pitching duel between Milwaukee Brewers rookie Jacob Misiorowski and Pittsburgh Pirates star Paul Skenes, and Misiorowski emerged victorious in a 4-2 Brewers win.
Misiorowski, making just his third MLB start, dominated the Pirates lineup, scattering two singles and racking up eight strikeouts across five scoreless innings. He made history by unleashing a 102.4 mph fastball, the fastest pitch ever recorded by a Brewers pitcher. The Brewers are watching Misiorowski’s workload.
Skenes, the reigning NL Rookie of the Year, struggled against the Brewers’ patient approach. Milwaukee hitters capitalized on Skenes in the second inning, batting around and scoring four runs – the most Skenes has allowed in a single inning in his 40 MLB starts.
