**Iran Halts IAEA Cooperation After US Strikes, Citing Broken Diplomacy**

Tehran, Iran – Iran’s parliament has voted to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog, following recent attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities by the United States and Israel. The move comes after a ceasefire brokered by the US and Qatar ended 12 days of intense hostilities, which included a US military intervention targeting three Iranian nuclear sites.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei accused the US of “torpedoing diplomacy,” citing extensive damage to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. He reaffirmed Iran’s right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy under the Non-Proliferation Treaty, while also insisting that Iran would not give up its civilian nuclear program.

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf criticized the IAEA for failing to condemn the attacks on Iran’s facilities, stating that cooperation would be suspended until the security of nuclear facilities is ensured. IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi has expressed a desire to resume inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities, but Tehran has castigated him for the IAEA’s earlier censure of Iran and his subsequent comments during the conflict.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov described Iran’s decision as a direct consequence of the US and Israeli attacks. US intelligence officials have assessed the strikes as having limited effectiveness, setting back Iran’s nuclear program by only a few months, despite President Trump’s claims of “obliterating” the targeted facilities.

Meanwhile, the fragile truce between Israel and Iran appears to be holding. Trump indicated that US and Iranian officials are scheduled to meet next week to continue a dialogue interrupted by the attacks. He also added that a deal might be signed.

The conflict has resulted in the deaths of 627 Iranians and left 4,870 wounded. Iran is beginning to ease internet restrictions imposed during the conflict and reopen its airspace.

In a separate development, Iran slammed NATO chief Mark Rutte’s praise of Trump’s attacks as “disgraceful.” Iranian state media reported the death of IRGC commander Ali Shadmani, who was injured during the strikes, with a vow of “harsh revenge.”
