Wed Jun 25 22:10:01 UTC 2025: ## West Bank Violence Escalates: Teenagers Among Four Palestinians Killed Amid Settler Attacks and Israeli Raids

**Ramallah, West Bank** – A surge of violence in the occupied West Bank has left at least four Palestinians dead, including two teenagers, as Israeli forces conduct deadly raids and settlers engage in unchecked attacks, backed by the military, on Palestinian civilians.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that a 15-year-old boy, identified as Rayan Tamer Houshieh, succumbed to wounds sustained after being shot in the neck by Israeli forces during a raid on al-Yamoun, west of Jenin. Just a day earlier, a 13-year-old, Ammar Hamayel, was reportedly killed by Israeli fire in Kafr Malek, marking a grim escalation in violence against young Palestinians.

The other three fatalities occurred during a violent settler attack on the town of Kafr Malek, northeast of Ramallah. Dozens of Israeli settlers reportedly attacked the town, setting fire to vehicles and homes. Local sources stated that Israeli troops provided protection for the settlers and fired live rounds as residents from neighboring villages attempted to intervene. The Palestine Red Crescent Society treated at least five Palestinians for gunshot wounds sustained during the attack, some in critical condition.

Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh condemned the violence, stating that the settlers were acting “under the protection of the Israeli army.” He appealed to the international community to urgently intervene to protect the Palestinian people.

Separately, on Wednesday, a 66-year-old woman, Zahriya Joudeh al-Obaid, was reportedly shot in the head and killed by Israeli forces during a raid on the Shu’fat refugee camp, north of occupied East Jerusalem. Her husband stated she posed no threat and was standing on the roof of their home when she was shot.

These incidents highlight the escalating tensions in the West Bank, where over 3 million Palestinians live under Israeli military rule. Since October 7, 2023, the region has witnessed a significant increase in violence, resulting in hundreds of deaths, thousands of people displaced, and widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has expressed alarm at the “wave of renewed violence” and called on Israel to immediately cease all settlement activities, evacuate settlers, and prevent attacks by its security forces and settlers. The UN reports that large-scale military incursions in the northern West Bank have resulted in the displacement of at least 40,000 people.
