Wed Jun 25 09:10:36 UTC 2025: ## AAP Leader Kejriwal Predicts Punjab and Gujarat Government Formation in 2027 After Bypoll Wins

**New Delhi, June 25, 2025 (The Hindu):** Riding high on recent byelection victories in Visavadar, Gujarat, and Ludhiana West, Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal confidently declared that the party is on track to form governments in both states in the 2027 Assembly elections.

Speaking at a celebration event, Kejriwal hailed the bypoll wins as a “semifinal” and congratulated Gopal Italia (Gujarat) and Sanjeev Arora (Punjab) for their victories, while thanking the people for their support.

“The bypolls in Gujarat and Punjab were a semifinal, and in 2027 Assembly polls, we will cross 100 seats in Punjab and form the government,” Kejriwal proclaimed. He pointed to the perceived “pro-incumbency” in Punjab, where AAP has been in power for three years, stating, “We had won 92 seats in the 2022 Assembly polls, and it looks like we will cross 100 seats in 2027.”

Kejriwal further asserted that the people of Gujarat are disillusioned with the BJP and that the Congress party is not a viable alternative. “People are fed up of the BJP in Gujarat… Congress is not an option. They see an option in AAP and have hope from the party,” he stated, adding, “We will form the government in Gujarat in 2027.”

He also accused the Congress leadership of being in collusion with the BJP, positioning AAP as a champion of “clean politics” and a force fighting against the established system.
