**US-Brokered Ceasefire Announced in Israel-Iran Conflict, Despite Initial Iranian Hesitation**
**[City, State] – [Date]** – A ceasefire agreement, brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, has reportedly been reached between Israel and Iran, ending their 12-day conflict that has destabilized the Middle East. The announcement follows a final exchange of missile strikes, with Israeli strikes resulting in nine Iranian deaths, including a nuclear scientist, according to Iranian state media. An Iranian missile also struck Be’er Sheva in Israel, killing seven.
The ceasefire was initially reported to be in effect at 7:30 a.m. local time, according to Iranian state television. However, a statement from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi cast doubt on the immediate implementation.
“As of now, there is NO ‘agreement’ on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations,” Araghchi stated on X. He indicated Iran was prepared to halt airstrikes provided Israel ceased its aggression by 4 am Tehran time, but that “the final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later.”
The ceasefire proposal came after Iran launched a limited retaliatory missile attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar, escalating tensions further. The U.S. has yet to release an official statement as of the release of this article.
