**Thousands Without Power in Wisconsin Amidst Heat Wave, We Energies Urges Caution Near Downed Lines**

Milwaukee, WI – Strong wind gusts have caused widespread power outages across Wisconsin, leaving thousands without electricity on a sweltering Saturday afternoon. We Energies reports that approximately 16,790 customers are currently affected as of 9:22 PM.

The outages, impacting counties across the state, are attributed to downed limbs and trees damaging We Energies equipment, according to company spokesperson Brendan Conway. “We have crews responding to all calls, and they are working as quickly and safely as possible to get power restored,” Conway stated. “We appreciate our customers’ patience.”

Residents can find the latest updates on their outages via the We Energies app or online outage map. To report an outage, customers can call 800-662-4797.

The power outages come at a particularly challenging time as much of Wisconsin is experiencing extreme heat. In Brookfield, employees at the Majestic Theatre reported a power loss around 3 PM, forcing them to provide free passes to ticket holders for future dates.

**Crucially, We Energies is reminding everyone to maintain a safe distance of at least 25 feet from any downed power line. Individuals should report downed lines to We Energies or their local police department immediately.**
