**Salem/Namakkal, June 23, 2025** – Two people were killed and another seriously injured in separate road accidents that occurred in Salem and Namakkal districts on Monday.
In Salem, G. Saran, a 19-year-old law student, died after being struck by an unidentified vehicle while riding his two-wheeler on the Salem-Coimbatore National Highway near Kandhampatti. Police reports indicate Saran, a resident of Nachanurkattuvalavu near Edappadi, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The vehicle fled the scene, and the Suramangalam police are investigating.
In Namakkal, Harikrishnan, a 25-year-old labourer from Gurusamipalayam near Mallasamudram, was killed when the two-wheeler he was riding with his wife and son collided with an Omni van near Kundankipalayam. Harikrishnan died at the scene. His wife, Swetha, 22, sustained serious injuries and is currently being treated at Tiruchengode Government Hospital. Their three-year-old son sustained minor injuries. Elachipalayam police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations.
