**NIA Secures Remand of Two Suspects in Deadly Pahalgam Terror Attack**

**Jammu, India – June 23, 2025** – A local court in Jammu today granted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) a five-day remand of two individuals arrested in connection with the April 22nd Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists, and injured 16 others. The suspects, identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar of Batkote, Pahalgam, and Bashir Ahmad Jothar of Hill Park, Pahalgam, were apprehended on Sunday in what officials are calling a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.

According to the NIA, Parvaiz and Bashir Ahmad Jothar knowingly provided shelter, food, and logistical assistance to three armed Pakistani terrorists linked to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit. The terrorists were harbored at a seasonal “dhok” (hut) in Hill Park prior to the attack, NIA investigations revealed.

The agency alleges that the two men have also disclosed the identities of the three terrorists, confirming their Pakistani nationality and LeT affiliation.

The NIA presented the two accused before the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Jammu, Ritesh Kumar Dubey, who ordered their custody until June 27th.

The NIA claims the terrorists selectively targeted tourists based on their religious identity in the April 22nd attack, labeling it as one of the most gruesome terrorist incidents in recent memory. The investigation is ongoing.
