**JT Brubaker Activated, Set to Make Yankees Debut After Injury-Plagued Wait**

**NEW YORK, NY – June 18, 2025** – Right-handed pitcher JT Brubaker has been reinstated from the 60-day injured list, the New York Yankees announced today. The move fills the team’s 40-man roster. To make room, right-hander Scott Effross was optioned following last night’s game.

Brubaker, 31, was acquired by the Yankees from the Pittsburgh Pirates in March 2024 in exchange for infielder Keiner Delgado and international bonus pool space. However, Yankee fans are still waiting to see him pitch in the majors.

After undergoing Tommy John surgery in April 2023, Brubaker’s rehab was hampered by setbacks, including an oblique strain in July 2024. His return to form was further delayed this spring when he suffered broken ribs attempting to avoid a comebacker, landing him on the IL.

Finally healthy, Brubaker recently completed a rehab assignment, pitching 21 1/3 innings with a 2.95 ERA in the minor leagues. He pitched five innings in his most recent minor league appearance.

Prior to his injury, Brubaker posted a 4.99 ERA in 315 2/3 innings with the Pirates.

Brubaker is expected to fill a long relief role for the Yankees, supporting a rotation that includes Max Fried, Carlos Rodón, Clarke Schmidt, Will Warren, and Ryan Yarbrough. With over five years of MLB service time, he cannot be optioned to the minors without his consent. Should he remain on the roster through the end of the season, he will reach six years of service time and become a free agent.
