**Indian Hockey Teams Suffer Double Defeat Against Belgium in FIH Pro League**
Antwerp, Belgium – June 21, 2025 – It was a tough day for Indian hockey as both the men’s and women’s teams suffered significant defeats against Belgium in the FIH Pro League. The Indian women’s team continued their losing streak with a 1-5 loss to the hosts, marking their fifth consecutive defeat in the European leg of the tournament.
Deepika scored the opening goal for India in the sixth minute, but Belgium quickly turned the tide. Helene Brasseur (37th, 55th), Lucie Breyne (41st), Ambre Ballenghien (54th), and Charlotte Englebert (58th) secured the victory for Belgium with a dominant performance.
The Indian men’s team also faced defeat, losing 3-6 to Belgium, marking their seventh consecutive loss. While Dilpreet Singh (36th), Mandeep (38th), and Amit Rohidas (56th) scored for India, Belgium’s goals from van Doren (1st), Hendrickx (28th, 54th), Duvekot (49th), Stockbroekx (53rd), and Boon (59th) proved too much to overcome.
Adding to the disappointment, the Indian junior men’s hockey team started their four-nation tournament in Berlin with a heavy 1-7 loss to Germany.
