Amul Kandasamy, the 60-year-old AIADMK MLA representing the Valparai (reserved) constituency, died today at a private hospital in Coimbatore after a brief illness. He was serving his first term as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, having been elected in 2021.

Kandasamy, a native of Annur in Coimbatore district, won the Valparai seat with a significant margin of 12,223 votes, securing 71,672 votes and defeating CPI’s M.
