**Erdogan Blasts Western Support for Israel, Warns Against Redrawing Middle East Borders “in Blood”**
**ISTANBUL** – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has launched a scathing attack on Western leaders for their “unconditional support” of Israel, accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of being the “biggest obstacle to regional peace.” Speaking at an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Istanbul on Saturday, Erdoğan warned against allowing the Middle East’s borders to be redrawn “in blood” and criticized Israel’s recent attacks on Iran, claiming they were intended to sabotage nuclear talks with the United States.
Erdoğan urged nations with influence over Israel to reject its “poison” and seek a peaceful solution through dialogue, emphasizing the need to prevent a wider conflict. He asserted that Netanyahu’s “Zionist ambitions” threatened to drag the region and the world into a “big disaster.”
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan echoed Erdoğan’s concerns, accusing Israel of pushing the Middle East towards “total disaster” through its aggression against Iran. “There is no Palestinian, Lebanese, Syrian, Yemeni or Iranian problem but there is clearly an Israeli problem,” Fidan stated.
As the current chair of the 57-member OIC, Turkey sees itself as a key mediator in the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. Al Jazeera’s Sinem Koseoglu reported from Istanbul that Turkey’s position as a NATO member with strong ties to both the West and the Muslim world, including Iran, positions it uniquely to help find a resolution to the conflict.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Friday that Iran is open to diplomatic engagement with the US, but only if Israel ceases its attacks. He said, “Iran is ready to consider diplomacy once again and once the aggression is stopped and the aggressor is held accountable for the crimes committed.” He also expressed support for continued discussions with Britain, France, Germany, and the EU.
