**New Delhi, June 21, 2025** – Fadila Kachakkaran, a Malayali MBBS student, has safely arrived in New Delhi today, June 21, 2025, after being evacuated from conflict-affected Iran as part of the Indian government’s “Operation Sindhu.” Ms. Kachakkaran, who was pursuing her second semester at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, was among a group of Indian nationals who landed at Delhi airport around 5 p.m.
The evacuation was coordinated by a special team formed under the directive of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Chetan Kumar Meena, Additional Resident Commissioner at Kerala House, New Delhi, is leading the team, ensuring necessary facilities and support for returning Keralites.
Ms. Kachakkaran, a native of Mudikode in Malappuram, is expected to reach Kochi airport later tonight. Her father, Muhammed Kachakkaran, who works as a civil engineer in Saudi Arabia, was present in Delhi to receive her.
