Sat Jun 21 14:11:23 UTC 2025: ## News Article: Railway Board Urged to Localize Exam Centers for Tamil Nadu Candidates
**TIRUNELVELI, June 21, 2025** – Member of Parliament C. Robert Bruce is demanding the Railway Board ensure candidates taking the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) examinations are assigned testing centers within their home districts. In a memorandum submitted today, Bruce highlighted the significant hardship being imposed on Tamil Nadu applicants, particularly those from Tirunelveli, who have been assigned centers in other districts and even other states.
The examinations are scheduled for June 23rd. Bruce pointed to the case of a candidate from Thatchanallur, Tirunelveli, being assigned to a center near Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, highlighting the unnecessary travel and expense.
Bruce further emphasized that Palayamkottai, known as the “Oxford of South India,” possesses ample well-equipped educational institutions capable of hosting the RRB examinations. He questioned why candidates from the district were deliberately being sent outside the state.
The MP is urging the Railway Board to take immediate action to rectify the situation and allocate examination centers within the respective districts of all Tamil Nadu candidates, ensuring fair and accessible opportunities for aspiring railway employees.
