**’Squid Game’ Season 3 Premieres June 27 on Netflix, Creator Hints at Potential Spinoff**

**New York, NY -** The highly anticipated third and final season of the global phenomenon “Squid Game” is set to premiere on Netflix on June 27th. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has teased the possibility of a spinoff series.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the season 3 premiere in New York City, Hwang stated, “I cannot just tell right now when and how it’s going to happen, but there is a chance.”

Season 3 picks up immediately after the failed rebellion of Seong Gi-hun (Player 456, played by Lee Jung-jae) and his fellow contestants. The synopsis reveals Gi-hun grappling with the loss of his friend and fueled by despair caused by The Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who was revealed to be Hwang In-ho in the previous season.

According to the official synopsis, Gi-hun remains determined to end the deadly game, while The Front Man plans his next move. The surviving players will face dire consequences as they continue the competition.

The trailer features Gi-hun confronting The Front Man, questioning why he was spared. Surviving players are shown forced to continue in the competition, including a deadly round of jump rope. The trailer ends with The Front Man questioning Gi-hun’s faith in humanity.
