**Himachal Pradesh Braces for More Landslides as Heavy Rains Lash the State**

**Shimla, June 20, 2025 (The Hindu):** Heavy rainfall has triggered landslips and waterlogging in several parts of Himachal Pradesh, prompting authorities to issue an orange warning for more heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas between June 22nd and 26th. The Meteorological (MeT) centre in Shimla warns that the intense precipitation could lead to mudslides in vulnerable zones, waterlogging in low-lying regions, damage to structures, and hazardous road conditions due to slipperiness and reduced visibility.

Traffic disruptions are already being experienced, with the Dharmshala-Chataro-Gaggal road temporarily closed due to a landslide. A stretch of the Tauni-Hatkoti road in Upper Shimla also suffered damage. Waterlogging at the Shahid Inder Singh Middle School in Pandoh is causing problems for students.

Nahan received the highest rainfall at 84.7 mm. Other areas that experienced significant rainfall include Pandoh (35 mm), Slapper (26.3 mm), and Sarahan (20.5 mm).

The MeT office forecasts conditions are now favorable for the southwest monsoon to advance further into Himachal Pradesh within the next two to three days. Residents are urged to exercise caution and stay informed about weather updates.
