**New Delhi:** Farmers across India are eagerly awaiting the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, with speculation mounting that it could be released today. While an official announcement from the government is still pending, sources suggest Prime Minister Modi’s scheduled visit to Bihar today could be the occasion for the transfer of funds.
The PM-KISAN scheme provides eligible farmers with ₹2,000 per installment, directly deposited into their bank accounts. However, this time, some farmers might miss out. The government has mandated e-KYC verification and Aadhaar linking of bank accounts. Farmers who have not completed these requirements risk having their installment withheld. Farmers are urged to complete their e-KYC at the nearest CSC center or through the online portal immediately.
Launched on February 24, 2019, in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, by Prime Minister Modi, the PM-KISAN scheme aims to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers across the country. The first installment saw over one crore farmers receiving ₹2,000 directly into their accounts.
