Fri Jun 20 11:37:53 UTC 2025: **Hyderabad Police Bust Fake Overseas Job Racket, Two Arrested**

**HYDERABAD, INDIA – June 20, 2025** – Hyderabad police have arrested two individuals allegedly involved in a large-scale overseas job scam that defrauded job seekers of over ₹35 lakh (approximately $44,000 USD). The South Zone Task Force, in collaboration with Lalaguda police, apprehended Naseem Banu, 40, from Nacharam, and Syed Adil, 23, from Begumpet, on Thursday.

Authorities are still searching for two additional suspects, identified as Fathima and Rekha, both residents of Hyderabad. The police seized nine Indian passports, five visiting visa copies, and two mobile phones from the arrested individuals.

According to police officials, Naseem Banu operated a consultancy called World Wide Overseas Consultants (WWOC) in Tarnaka, Secunderabad, with the primary objective of deceiving aspiring overseas workers. The consultancy advertised job opportunities and visa services for countries like Singapore, Australia, Russia, and Mauritius through social media platforms like Facebook.

Victims from Hyderabad and Nizamabad were reportedly enticed with promises of overseas placements and subsequently paid significant sums of money. After submitting their passports for visa processing, they received counterfeit visas and fabricated job offer letters. When victims requested refunds, Banu allegedly ceased communication, closed the consultancy office, and went into hiding.

“The accused were running a sophisticated scam, preying on the dreams of individuals seeking better opportunities abroad,” stated a police spokesperson. “We are committed to bringing all those involved to justice.”

Both Naseem Banu and Syed Adil have prior criminal records under the Emigration Act at Lalaguda and Balkonda police stations. Police investigations revealed that the consultancy had previously operated in Armoor in 2024, suggesting a pattern of recurring fraudulent activity. The investigation is ongoing.
