**Headline: SBI Foundation and Prayoga Institute Partner to Boost Science Education in Rural Karnataka**
**Kalaburagi, June 19, 2025** – The State Bank of India Foundation (SBIF) and Prayoga Institute of Education Research have joined forces to expand the Kriya programme to 12 government schools in the Raichur district of Karnataka. This initiative, launched on June 17th at Government Model Primary School in Station Bazaar, Raichur, is part of SBIF’s Integrated Learning Mission (ILM) aimed at Reimagining Science Education.
The Kriya program is designed for students in classes 6 to 10, and aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by emphasizing hands-on scientific inquiry and critical thinking. The program aims to bridge the educational gap in rural India by providing quality science education and resources for students to experience science in a practical way.
“By providing quality science education and the necessary resources, we are enabling students to experience science in a practical and engaging manner,” said Sanjay Prakash, Managing Director of the SBI Foundation. “We believe this initiative will inspire students in Raichur to pursue careers in science.”
Vallish Herur, Managing Trustee of Prayoga, added, “Science, when learnt experientially, enables students to build capabilities beyond textbooks. With support from the SBI Foundation and encouragement from local education authorities, we aim to create a brighter future for children in Raichur.”
The Kriya programme has already impacted over 11,000 students across 77 schools in Karnataka. Prayoga Institute of Education Research, celebrating its 10th year, focuses on strengthening STEM education, especially in underserved regions, through scalable and sustainable programs.
