**Helicopter Crash in Kedarnath Claims Five Lives**

**New Delhi – June 15, 2025:** A helicopter carrying pilgrims crashed shortly after takeoff in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand on Sunday, June 15, 2025, killing at least five people. The privately operated helicopter, en route from Kedarnath to Guptkashi, had seven people onboard: five adults, a child, and a pilot.

This is the fifth helicopter accident in the Uttarakhand region in the past 40 days, raising concerns about air safety during the Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his condolences via X, stating, “Very sad news has been received about a helicopter crash in Rudraprayag district. SDRF, local administration and other rescue teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations.”
