**StreetsPAC Endorses Lander for Mayor, Lauds “Comprehensive” Vision for Safer Streets and Transit**
New York, NY – StreetsPAC, a political action committee focused on livable streets and public transit, has thrown its support behind City Comptroller Brad Lander in the upcoming mayoral race, citing his plan as “by far the most comprehensive blueprint… ever seen from a candidate for any office.” The group announced its endorsement, highlighting Lander’s detailed roadmap for revitalizing Vision Zero, improving subway and bus services, reimagining curb space utilization, and enhancing street safety.
Following Lander, StreetsPAC ranked Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani second, and state Senators Zellnor Myrie, Council Speaker Adrienne Adams, and Scott Stringer in a three-way tie for third.
StreetsPAC Executive Director Eric McClure praised Lander’s support for the Streets Master Plan, empowering the Department of Transportation, restoring outdoor dining, and regulating delivery apps to protect workers.
Lander, accepting the endorsement, criticized Andrew Cuomo and outlined his commitment to expanding protected bike lanes, implementing the Bus Rapid Transit plan, utilizing congestion pricing revenue for transportation improvements, and striving for frequent subway and bus service. He also pledged to address street homelessness and ensure street safety for all New Yorkers.
In other races, StreetsPAC endorsed Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine for Comptroller, citing his superior positions on key policy issues like congestion pricing. For Manhattan Borough President, Council Member Keith Powers received the nod. The group also endorsed several incumbent City Council members, while singling out Council Member Darlene Mealy for severe criticism.
