**Namakkal, India – June 14, 2025** – M. Mathiventhan, the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department Minister, inaugurated four new bulk milk coolers (BMCs) in the Rasipuram Assembly constituency on Saturday. The BMCs, located in A. Minnakkal and Malaiyampatti panchayats, were installed at a cost of ₹75.10 lakh.

During the inauguration, Minister Mathiventhan emphasized the Tamil Nadu government’s commitment to supporting milk producers and farmers. He highlighted Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s initiatives, including an incentive of ₹3 per liter of milk and an additional ₹1 per liter for high-fat milk.

“The government is dedicated to the welfare of our farmers,” the Minister stated. “We are providing various subsidies and loans to help them thrive in the dairy industry.”

The government also provides support for milk society workers, offering ₹30 per 50 kg bag of Aavin fodder. Additionally, members providing milk to societies receive a 50% bonus and dividend from the societies’ profits. Subsidies of 85% are available for cattle insurance, and veterinary services are provided for society members’ livestock. Loans are also available, including ₹18,000 for cow maintenance under the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and up to ₹1.60 lakh for purchasing cows.

Minister Mathiventhan also announced that ₹7.19 crore has been provided as loans to farmers to buy 1,198 cattle this year through the Tamil Nadu Backward Classes Economic Development Corporation (TABCEDCO). Last month, BMCs were installed in several other locations at a cost of ₹1.82 crore.

Rajya Sabha member K.R.N. Rajeshkumar and officials from various departments were also present at the inauguration.
