Fri Jun 13 18:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Millions Expected to Protest Trump on His Birthday as Military Parade Rolls Through DC

**Washington, DC** – Millions of Americans are expected to participate in nationwide protests on Saturday, coinciding with President Donald Trump’s birthday and a controversial military parade in Washington, DC. Organized by the “No Kings” movement, these demonstrations aim to reject what organizers call “authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics, and the militarization of our democracy.”

More than 1,900 protests are planned across all 50 states, fueled by recent deployments of the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles in response to protests against immigration sweeps. Organizers say these actions have only galvanized opposition to the administration.

Demonstrations are also targeting controversial raids and deportations in cities including New York, Seattle, Chicago, Austin, Las Vegas, and Washington, DC. The Trump administration has defended its actions, suggesting similar responses could be implemented in other states facing protests.

“We respect, and will defend, the right to peacefully protest, but we will not tolerate violence or lawlessness,” said Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe, who activated his state’s National Guard as a precautionary measure.

While not the first nationwide protest against Trump’s policies, organizers anticipate this to be the largest, potentially exceeding the 3.5 million participants estimated for the “Hands Off!” mobilization in April.

The military parade, estimated to cost up to $45 million, will display a vast array of military equipment in the nation’s capital. Protest organizers are strategically holding rallies outside of DC to shift focus away from the spectacle. The flagship rally will be held in Philadelphia, where authorities are prepared for a turnout of 60,000 to 80,000 protesters.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams assured the public that the city is prepared for major demonstrations and that the NYPD will protect both protesters and everyday citizens.

However, warnings against violence have been issued. South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson vowed to prosecute anyone attacking law enforcement or destroying property, while Florida Sheriff Wayne Ivey issued a stark warning against violence towards deputies.

Despite these warnings, protest organizers emphasize their commitment to peaceful demonstrations and de-escalation tactics, with the goal of sending a clear message to the president: “In America, we don’t do kings.”
