**Narayanpet, June 12, 2025** – At least 18 passengers were injured early Thursday morning when a private sleeper bus traveling from Shivamogga, Karnataka, to Hyderabad collided with a stationary lorry on National Highway 167 in Narayanpet district.
The accident occurred around 4:30 AM. According to Inspector Ramlal of the Makthal police, the lorry had broken down on the highway, and heavy overnight rain significantly reduced visibility. Despite highway patrol teams placing reflective cones to warn drivers, the speeding bus reportedly failed to stop in time and crashed into the rear of the stationary vehicle.
The impact severely damaged the front of the bus. Four passengers sustained fractures, and five others, including three children, suffered spinal injuries. The bus driver also suffered a fractured leg, and the co-driver was also injured.
All of the injured were treated at the government hospital in Makthal. Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
