**Jharkhand BJP Leader Claims Threat to Life, Accuses State Government of Conspiracy**

**PATNA, June 3, 2025** – Babulal Marandi, president of the Jharkhand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has publicly voiced serious concerns for his safety, alleging a direct threat from the state government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

During a press briefing in Giridih on Monday, Marandi, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, stated he has reliable information suggesting individuals close to CM Soren have taken out a “contract to harm him and his family” due to his persistent accusations of corruption within the government. He accused the government of plotting to attack him, framing him in false cases, and intimidating his family and associates.

“I have come to know from my reliable sources that the Chief Minister and his corrupt officers have taken a supari (contract) to threaten and scare me,” Marandi stated. “There is a conspiracy going on to attack me and add my name in false cases.”

Marandi has been a vocal critic of the Soren government, accusing it of involvement in various scams, including those related to liquor, sand, mining, land, and illegal coal and stone extraction. He has also questioned the efficacy of government development schemes, alleging widespread corruption.

Responding to the accusations, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) spokesperson Tanuj Khatri dismissed Marandi’s claims as baseless and politically motivated. “Babulal Marandi seems to have no constructive work left, which is why he is resorting to baseless allegations that have no connection with reality,” Khatri said in a statement. “Making such low-level political statements without any evidence reflects a state of mental bankruptcy.”

Khatri further accused Marandi of attempting to distract from the Soren government’s progress in areas such as rural infrastructure, education, healthcare, and employment. He urged a focus on “progress, not provocation.”

The allegations have intensified the already fraught political climate in Jharkhand, raising questions about the safety and security of opposition leaders and the potential for political instability. The matter is expected to be debated extensively in the coming days.
