Tue Jun 03 01:50:00 UTC 2025: **Brewers Extend Winning Streak to Eight with Victory Over Reds**

CINCINNATI – The Milwaukee Brewers continued their dominant run, defeating the Cincinnati Reds 3-2 on Monday night at Great American Ball Park. Christian Yelich’s third-inning home run proved to be the game-winner, propelling the Brewers to their eighth consecutive victory, the longest active streak in Major League Baseball.

Yelich, fresh off being named National League Player of the Week, shook off a hand contusion sustained the previous day to launch a 417-foot solo shot. After that, the Brewers’ offense cooled down, managing only one hit and one walk in the final six innings.

Starting pitcher Aaron Civale settled in after a shaky first inning, allowing only two runs on four hits over 5 ⅓ innings. The bullpen proved airtight, with Rob Zastryzny, Jared Koenig, Abner Uribe, and Trevor Megill combining for 3 ⅓ scoreless innings of relief. Megill sealed the win with a clean ninth inning for his 12th save.

The Reds jumped to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning with four hits off Civale. However, the Brewers answered in the second, tying the game with a rally that included a single by Sal Frelick, a double by Andruw Monasterio, walks by Jake Bauers and Joey Ortiz, and a sacrifice fly by Brice Turang.

The Brewers’ current winning streak is their longest since August 2023. The series against the Reds continues Tuesday night, with Freddy Peralta scheduled to pitch against Hunter Greene.
