**Tanzanian National Missing After Falling into Ernakulam Channel**
**Kochi, India – June 2, 2025** – A Tanzanian national, a former trainee at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, is missing after reportedly falling into the Ernakulam channel near the Venduruthy Bridge on Sunday evening. The 22-year-old was in Kochi en route to a flight back to Tanzania.
According to a statement released by the Navy, the incident occurred at approximately 5:30 PM. Authorities believe the individual accidentally fell into the water.
A joint search operation is currently underway, involving the Navy, local police, Coastal Police, and Fire and Rescue Services. Navy diving teams have been deployed to the channel in an effort to locate the missing man. The search is ongoing.
