Mon Jun 02 01:30:00 UTC 2025: **Kota, India – June 2, 2025:** The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, the organizing body for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) 2025, unexpectedly released the results early this morning, several hours ahead of the scheduled 10:00 AM (IST) announcement.

Education expert Dev Sharma revealed that this year’s qualifying cut-offs have seen a significant drop compared to previous years. For the Common Rank List (CRL), the subject-wise cut-off is 5.83% and the aggregate is 20.56%. Similarly, for OBC and EWS categories, the subject-wise cut-off is 5.25% and the aggregate is 18.50%. The subject-wise and overall qualifying cut-offs for SC and ST categories are 2.92% and 10.28% respectively.

To qualify, general category students needed a minimum of 7 marks in each subject and an aggregate score of 74. For OBC and EWS candidates, the subject-wise requirement was 6 marks, with an aggregate of 66. SC and ST students needed 3 marks in each subject and a total of 37 marks to qualify.

Sharma highlighted a notable decrease in qualifying marks compared to last year. The aggregate qualifying marks for the general category dropped by 35, while OBC and EWS categories saw a decrease of 32 marks. The SC/ST category experienced a 17-mark drop. This is despite the previously announced cut-offs being higher.

Candidates can now check their results on the official JEE Advanced website (https://jeeadv.ac.in/) or through the direct link (https://results25.jeeadv.ac.in/) by entering their 9-digit roll number, date of birth, and mobile number.

According to Sharma, this year’s drop in cut-offs follows two years of increasing qualifying percentages and marks. He noted that the difficulty level of the exam likely contributed to the lowered cut-off scores.
