Sun Jun 01 01:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Jacob Elordi Takes a “Daring” Turn in “The Narrow Road to the Deep North”

**Hollywood, CA** – Jacob Elordi is garnering critical acclaim for his performance as war doctor Dorrigo Evans in Justin Kurzel’s limited series, “The Narrow Road to the Deep North,” now streaming on Prime Video. The series, adapted from Richard Flanagan’s novel, marks Elordi’s return to television following his breakout role in “Euphoria.”

Elordi describes being drawn to the project by Kurzel’s vision and the opportunity for profound character work. He was granted a year to prepare, immersing himself in the historical context and the novel. Kurzel provided him with a “manifesto” of physical and mental exercises to embody the character, aiding him in escaping his own head.

This role comes on the heels of Elordi’s successful collaborations with Sofia Coppola in “Priscilla” and Emerald Fennell in “Saltburn.” He acknowledged his good fortune in working with these “great creatives” and finding a collaborative shorthand with filmmakers who share his approach.

Despite the calculated appearance of his career choices, Elordi insists his path has been “serendipitous.” He emphasizes his belief in the “craft” and the connection between like-minded artists. His pre-existing admiration for Kurzel, who he calls his “cinema father,” made the experience even more rewarding.

While Elordi portrays the younger Dorrigo Evans, Ciarán Hinds plays the older version. Remarkably, the two actors did not collaborate, relying on Kurzel’s casting expertise to create a seamless transition between their portrayals.

Elordi embraces the raw sensuality depicted in the series, particularly the exploration of love and intimacy between his character and the female leads. He emphasizes the necessity of these scenes to convey unspoken truths and the different facets of his character’s relationships. He also praised the chemistry between himself and actresses Olivia DeJonge and Odessa Young, highlighting their shared dedication to the craft.

“The Narrow Road to the Deep North” marks Elordi’s first major project filmed in his native Australia, an experience he describes as deeply personal and comforting. He also collaborated with his sister, Isabella Elordi, on an Australian Vogue cover tied to the series, a creative endeavor he found to be incredibly intimate and connective.

Looking ahead, Elordi is currently working on Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars” and recently wrapped Emerald Fennell’s “Wuthering Heights,” in which he co-stars with Margot Robbie. He praised Robbie’s performance as a “livewire,” expressing excitement for audiences to see her portrayal.

“The Narrow Road to the Deep North” is available now on Prime Video.
