**Samsung Unveils One UI 8 Beta, Powered by Android 16**

Seoul, South Korea – Samsung has officially released the beta version of its One UI 8, based on the upcoming Android 16 operating system. While not a complete overhaul, the update introduces several notable enhancements and features designed to improve user experience.

One of the key changes is a revamped Quick Share interface, featuring dedicated “Send” and “Receive” tabs for streamlined file sharing. This change is expected to roll out to all Android devices through a Google update.

The “My Files” app gets a refresh with Categories at the top and a new “files added recently” section, providing quick access to newly created or downloaded files. The Weather app showcases more realistic visuals and translucent UI elements for a more immersive experience.

Samsung Internet receives a design update, focusing on the overflow shortcuts menu for easier sharing and customization. The new 90:10 split-screen mode allows users to prioritize one app while keeping another partially visible, similar to OnePlus’s Open Canvas feature.

The Reminder app receives an overhaul with new categories and suggested reminders, while the Calendar app can now create and manage reminders directly. Other notable improvements include enhanced Samsung DeX functionality, updated accessibility features, and streamlined NFC check-ins at service centers.

The One UI 8 beta is currently available for select devices in Korea, the US, Germany, and the UK. Compatible devices include the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Tab S9 series. US users are limited to unlocked devices or T-Mobile variants.

Samsung plans to expand the beta program to other regions in the future.
