**WWE and R-Truth Part Ways After Storied Career**
**STAMFORD, CT –** In a move that has surprised and saddened many wrestling fans, WWE and veteran performer R-Truth, real name Ron Killings, have ended their long and successful relationship. Killings announced his departure Sunday morning via X, stating: “I’m sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years.”
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp confirmed the announcement, reporting that WWE informed Killings that his contract would not be renewed upon its expiration.
The 53-year-old Killings recently competed in prominent matches on Saturday Night’s Main Event against John Cena and on SmackDown against JC Mateo, which could potentially be his final match with the company.
This marks the end of R-Truth’s second run with WWE, which began in 2008. He had previously performed as K-Kwik from 1999 to 2001 before a successful stint in TNA (now Impact Wrestling), where he became the NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
Throughout his WWE career, R-Truth established himself as one of the most entertaining and beloved figures in professional wrestling. He is best known for his comedic timing and his record-setting 54 reigns as WWE 24/7 Champion. In addition to his comedic success, Killings is a two-time United States Champion, two-time Hardcore Champion, and two-time WWE Tag Team Champion.
The future for R-Truth remains uncertain, but his impact on the wrestling industry and the memories he created for fans will undoubtedly endure.
