**Ghana Dominates Trinidad and Tobago in Unity Cup Third-Place Playoff**
**Brentford, UK –** The Ghana Black Stars secured a comfortable victory over Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors this afternoon in the Unity Cup third-place playoff match at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford. Ghana dominated the match from the opening whistle, quickly establishing a two-goal lead within the first 11 minutes.
Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew proved pivotal, delivering a dangerous cross early on. He followed with a curling strike from the edge of the area in the opening minutes. Soon after, Razak Simpson headed home from an Ayew corner kick, extending Ghana’s lead.
Despite the early deficit, a small contingent of Trinidad and Tobago supporters maintained a positive atmosphere, creating an energy with whistles, horns, and steelpan music. However, their team struggled to mount a significant attack against Ghana’s defense.
Trinidad and Tobago, fielding a completely new starting lineup from their agonizing 3-2 semi-final loss to Jamaica, were unable to contain Ghana’s offensive pressure. The Soca Warriors fell to Jamaica after a 94th-minute penalty from Richard King.
Ghana entered the third-place match after a narrow 2-1 defeat to Nigeria, where Brandon Thomas-Asante scored his first international goal.
The victory secures third place in the revived Unity Cup for Ghana.
