**Siraj Reflects on Rohit Wicket, Champions Trophy Snub, and Emotional Return to Hyderabad**
Ahmedabad – Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Siraj is opening up about his experiences this IPL season, including his impactful performance against former captain Rohit Sharma and the journey back from being left out of India’s Champions Trophy squad. In a recent interview, Siraj discussed the ninth match of the ongoing IPL, where he bowled Rohit Sharma. “I have a lot of respect for him, which is why I didn’t celebrate much.”
The pacer also talked about the disappointment of missing out on the Champions Trophy, which fueled his determination to focus on his skills and fitness. “The Champions Trophy selection was very important to me, but I told myself it’s not over yet. I knew I had to focus on my skills and fitness. I had to enjoy my bowling again.”
Adding to the emotional rollercoaster, Siraj faced his former team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). “I was a bit emotional during that moment. But after that, you saw what happened.” In that game, he delivered a match-winning performance, claiming 3 for 19 and earning Player of the Match.
The highlight for Siraj was performing in front of his family in Hyderabad. “The most memorable moment was having my family in the stadium. Performing in front of them gives me a lot of confidence… It felt like bowling at home. That made it even more special,” he said.
