**Indian General Reveals Shift in Tactics Led to Decisive Air Victory Over Pakistan**
**SINGAPORE** – India’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, has revealed a crucial turning point in the recent conflict with Pakistan, stating that a change in tactics after initial setbacks led to a decisive Indian advantage in the air. Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue security forum, General Chauhan outlined how India responded to early losses by recalibrating its approach and launching a series of strategic strikes deep within Pakistani territory.
“We rectified tactics and then went back on the 7th, 8th and 10th in large numbers to hit air bases deep inside Pakistan, penetrated all their air defences with impunity, carried out precision strikes,” Chauhan stated.
These strikes, dubbed “Operation Sindoor,” targeted key Pakistani airbases, some of which were located near the nation’s nuclear facilities. While acknowledging the proximity, General Chauhan emphasized that the nuclear sites themselves were not targeted, and that attacks were conducted with “pinpoint accuracy, some even to a metre.”
He also addressed claims of Pakistani air victories, stating that India suffered initial losses, but declined to elaborate on details. He maintained that the Indian Air Force responded by executing large sorties utilizing a variety of aircraft and ordnance on the final day of Operation Sindoor, effectively neutralizing the Pakistani air threat.
Both General Chauhan and Pakistan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, have dismissed any suggestion that nuclear weapons were considered during the conflict, emphasizing a commitment to rationality and conventional warfare strategies.
General Chauhan also addressed concerns regarding Chinese involvement, stating that there was no discernible increase in activity along India’s northern borders during the conflict. While acknowledging the possibility of China providing satellite imagery or other intelligence to Pakistan, he noted that such resources are commercially available from various sources.
Despite the ceasefire, General Chauhan affirmed that the Indian government is prepared to respond decisively to any future terror attacks originating from Pakistan, ensuring the armed forces remain on high alert.
