**New Chandigarh -** England’s Jonny Bairstow could make an immediate impact for the Mumbai Indians as they face the Gujarat Titans in the Eliminator match of IPL 2025. Bairstow, signed for INR 5.25 crore as a replacement for Will Jacks, is likely to slot into the MI XI in place of South African opener Ryan Rickelton, providing a wicket-keeping option for the team.

The move comes as Mumbai looks to bolster their top order, which has been inconsistent this season despite Suryakumar Yadav’s strong form. Former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody highlighted Bairstow’s IPL experience and recent good form for Yorkshire as factors favoring his inclusion.
