**Bengaluru, May 30, 2025** – Amidst unusually early and heavy monsoon rains, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has issued urgent directives to district officials to prioritize public safety and ensure efficient implementation of government programs. In a conference with Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of zilla panchayats held today, the Chief Minister stressed the need for responsive administration and proactive handling of rain-related challenges.

“The state has received exceptionally high rainfall this month, and we must act swiftly to mitigate any potential damage,” said Mr. Siddaramaiah. He instructed officials to personally visit rain-affected areas and expedite the disbursement of relief funds. A sum of ₹1.2 lakh has been allocated for houses completely destroyed by the rains.

The Chief Minister assured that adequate resources are available, with over ₹1,000 crore earmarked under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) in various districts. To further enhance local responsiveness, task forces will be formed in each gram panchayat, involving representatives from various government departments.
