**KL Rahul Opts for India A Duty After Delhi Capitals’ IPL Disappointment**

**NEW DELHI** – Indian cricket star KL Rahul, fresh off a near-miss with his Delhi Capitals franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has decided to forgo any post-tournament downtime and instead make himself available for the India A tour of England. Despite Delhi Capitals finishing just outside the IPL playoff spots, Rahul is eager to get back into red-ball cricket and has informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of his desire to participate in the second unofficial Test against England Lions, starting June 6.

Rahul will be departing on Monday.

Sources within the BCCI suggest that Rahul sees this as crucial preparation for the upcoming five-Test series for the senior men’s team and a valuable opportunity to gain match practice. Speaking recently to Sky Sports, Rahul reiterated his passion for Test cricket, stating, “Test cricket is number one for us. We love playing Test cricket.”

The senior Indian team will participate in an intra-squad match on June 13 in Beckenham. The first Test of the 5-match series starts in Leeds on June 20.
