**’Squid Game’ Season 3 Promises Brutal Games and a Focus on Humanity**

*Los Angeles, CA* – The highly anticipated third and final season of the hit Netflix series “Squid Game” is set to premiere on June 27th, and creator Hwang Dong-hyuk is revealing new details about the show’s intense conclusion.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Hwang shared that the final season will feature even more brutal games designed to expose the “lowest bottom of human beings.” He stated, “In the case of season 3, I wanted to introduce games that could really show the lowest bottom of human beings…I wanted very intense games to bring out the bottom parts of human nature.” Hwang has drawn inspiration from games he played as a child, specifically incorporating height-related elements to instill fear.

The final season aims to explore the theme of preserving humanity amidst intense competition, a departure from the previous seasons’ focus on capitalism and rebellion. Hwang emphasized, “In the case of season 3, I wanted to take a slightly different approach—I wanted to focus on how [people] have to preserve their humanity amidst this intense competition in this capitalistic era.”

The new season sees protagonist Gi-hun (Player 456), played by Lee Jung-jae, grappling with the failure of his rebellion against the Front Man from season two. Hwang teased that Gi-hun will undergo the most dramatic character arc of the series, while also highlighting the significant development of Myung-gi, the father of the baby Jun-hee, who may become a pawn in the game, with his crying heard in the trailer.

“This baby plays a very important role in season 3, not just for Jun-hee, but [also] for the fate of everyone inside,” Hwang confirmed.

“Squid Game” season 3 premieres on June 27th on Netflix.
