Thu May 29 09:20:00 UTC 2025: **Teenage Tennis Sensation Mirra Andreeva Reveals Secrets to Success: Early Starts and Bon Jovi**
**PARIS, FRANCE** – At just 18 years old, Mirra Andreeva is already the world’s No. 6 ranked tennis player. Her recipe for success? A meticulously planned routine, a fighting spirit on the court, and perhaps surprisingly, a foray into 80s rock.
Andreeva detailed her rigid schedule after battling back from a double-break deficit to defeat Cristina Bucsa 6-4, 6-3 in the first round of Roland Garros. The day begins before sunrise. “Today I had to wake up at 6:40,” she explained. “Then I had 35 minutes to pack my bag and do everything. Then I had 25 minutes to have breakfast, then we had 30 minutes to come here. Then I spent 11 minutes in the locker room. Then we did the warm-up, and went on court. It’s very well-planned.”
Her warm-up routine, consisting of 30-40 minutes with a hitting partner and some basket drills with coach Conchita Martínez, can vary in intensity depending on Martínez’s mood. To stay on her coach’s good side, Andreeva has been embracing Martínez’s fondness for Bon Jovi. “I was like, ‘Wow, I love it, who is the singer?’ And no offense, but I’m working with Conchita. I have to manage my music taste. I’m trying to be on the same level as her, so we have more or less the same taste in music.”
The match against Bucsa proved to be a test of Andreeva’s mettle. After falling behind 3-0, she turned the tide with aggressive play and signature down-the-line winners. “Point by point, I found my rhythm,” she said. Her powerful serve also proved crucial, helping her fend off multiple break points.
Andreeva, who reached the Roland Garros semifinals last year and boasts two WTA 1000 titles this season, will face Ashlyn Krueger in the second round. Krueger defeated Suzan Lamens 6-3, 6-4. While Krueger won their previous encounter at the US Open, Andreeva’s current form and unwavering dedication make her a formidable contender at the French Open.
