**Jets Vote to Keep “Tush Push” in NFL, Hint at Possible Offensive Shift with Justin Fields**
**NEW YORK, NY -** The New York Jets’ recent vote against banning the “Tush Push” play has raised eyebrows around the league, suggesting a potential strategic shift on offense, particularly with the addition of quarterback Justin Fields.
At the NFL’s spring meeting this week, the Jets were among just ten teams that opposed a proposal from the Green Bay Packers to outlaw the controversial play, popularized by the Philadelphia Eagles. The proposal ultimately failed by a narrow margin of two votes, ensuring the “Tush Push” remains legal for the 2025 season.
ESPN’s Rich Cimini believes this signals a possible intention for the Jets to implement the play themselves. The acquisition of Justin Fields, known for his rushing ability, adds another dimension to the possibility. Fields has attempted 12 “Tush Push” sneaks in his career, converting 11 for first downs. Only Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen have attempted more since 2021.
“It wouldn’t be shocking to see the Jets try to do something like it in 2025 and that Fields is the quarterback who has been a part of the third-most pushes in the league,” Cimini explained.
While the Jets likely wouldn’t have considered this play with Aaron Rodgers under center, the team is poised to incorporate it into their playbook for the upcoming season.
