**Michigan Forensic Scientist Tyler Griffith Snags “Jeopardy!” Win with a Nail-Biting Finish**
**Los Angeles, CA – May 28, 2025** – In a stunning upset on Tuesday’s episode of “Jeopardy!”, Tyler Griffith, a criminal forensic scientist from Sturgis, Michigan, emerged victorious despite a risky game and a close call in Final Jeopardy!. Griffith, representing St. Joseph County, edged out returning champion Judith Friedman of California and challenger Jackie Yang of New York in a rollercoaster of a contest.
Early in the first round, Griffith made a bold move landing on the Daily Double and wagering it all to take the lead. However, he later faltered, entering the Double Jeopardy! Round with a mere $200 lead. Yang dominated much of the second round until Griffith landed on the second Daily Double, and wagering it all again, landing him once again in a slight lead.
The tension reached a fever pitch during Final Jeopardy! The category was: History. The clue: “In 1847, a decade before making national news, he was the plaintiff in a Missouri case against Irene Emerson.” All three contestants incorrectly answered. However, Griffith’s strategic wager, ultimately left him with $799, just enough to secure the win.
“I was shocked,” said Griffith. “I knew the category was a weakness for me, but I’m excited to return and defend my title.”
Griffith will face new challengers Alice Welch from New York and Thomas Sweeney from Ohio on tonight’s “Jeopardy!” broadcast.
