Tue May 27 19:31:13 UTC 2025: **Hyderabad Set to Launch City’s First Third-Level Flyover, Promising Relief for IT Corridor Commuters**

**HYDERABAD, May 28, 2025** – The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) announced that the city’s first third-level flyover, connecting the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and Kondapur, is nearing completion and is slated for launch in the first week of June. The ₹178 crore project, a key component of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP), aims to significantly reduce traffic congestion at the notoriously busy Gachibowli junction.

The 1.2-kilometre, six-lane flyover will soar over the existing Level 1 flyover at Gachibowli junction and the Shilpa Layout Phase-I flyover (Level 2). It promises to ease traffic flow between the ORR and Kondapur and Hafeezpet, improving connectivity to Hitech City and the Financial District. The GHMC also anticipates reduced travel times to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

According to a GHMC media release, the new structure is expected to save commuters considerable time and fuel. It will become the 23rd flyover and the 37th structure built under the SRDP project, which envisions a total of 42 structures.

In related news, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan has urged the South Central Railway to expedite the completion of railway overbridges at Shastripuram and Falaknuma within the next three months.
