**Singaporean Woman Survivor Thanks PM Modi for “Operation Sindoor” Following J&K Terror Attack**
**Singapore** – A Singaporean woman of Indian origin, Vaishali Bhatt, has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating “Operation Sindoor” in response to the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir last month. Ms. Bhatt and her husband narrowly escaped the April 22nd attack, having left the Baisaran Valley just hours before terrorists killed 26 unarmed civilians.
Initially frustrated by the perceived lack of immediate action following the tragedy, Ms. Bhatt was deeply moved upon hearing about “Operation Sindoor” on May 7th. She conveyed her thanks to PM Modi through BJP MP Hemang Joshi, who is currently in Singapore.
Ms. Bhatt emphasized the significance of the operation’s name, “Sindoor,” which refers to the vermilion mark worn by married Hindu women. The name resonated with her as it symbolized protection, faith, and the sacred bond impacted by the attack, where terrorists specifically targeted men, effectively “wiping out the sindoor” and widowing their wives.
“I cried uncontrollably,” Ms. Bhatt stated in a video message. “It meant a lot to me. The ‘Sindoor’ name was apt. No one else could have done it.”
Sources have confirmed that the name “Operation Sindoor” was suggested by Prime Minister Modi himself. The operation is seen as a direct response to the horrific attack and a reaffirmation of India’s commitment to combatting terrorism and protecting its citizens.
