**Harper Exits Game After Being Hit by Strider Fastball**

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper was forced to leave Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Braves after being struck in the right elbow by a 95-mph fastball from pitcher Spencer Strider in the first inning. The pitch hit Harper on the same elbow where he underwent Tommy John surgery after the 2022 World Series. Edmundo Sosa replaced Harper as a pinch runner and remained in the game at third base.

Harper, a two-time National League MVP, is currently batting .267 with eight home runs and 33 RBIs this season. He is in the seventh year of a 13-year, $330 million contract signed before the 2019 season.

This is a developing story; more updates will follow from Newsweek Sports.
