**Report: Israel Replicating Gaza Tactics in West Bank, Creating “Spatial Control”**
**London, UK** – A new report by the research group Forensic Architecture alleges that Israel is implementing tactics in the occupied West Bank, during its “Operation Iron Wall” campaign, mirroring those used in Gaza. The report, released [Date of Release], details a systematic plan to establish a network of military control within Palestinian refugee camps, allowing for the unhindered deployment of Israeli military units.
Focusing on the Jenin, Far’a, Nur Shams, and Tulkarem refugee camps, researchers analyzed witness statements, satellite imagery, and video footage to demonstrate a coordinated effort to widen roads, demolish homes, and destroy infrastructure. This creates what the report describes as a system of “spatial control,” facilitating rapid military deployment and reshaping the built environment to the military’s advantage.
“This network of military routes is clearly visible in the Jenin refugee camp and evidence indicates that the same tactic is, at the time of publication, being repeated in the Nur Shams and Tulkarm refugee camps,” the report’s authors noted.
The report highlights statements by Israeli ministers indicating a deliberate intent to apply the “lessons” learned in Gaza to the West Bank. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who has control over much of the administration of the West Bank, boasted that the camps would resemble “uninhabitable ruins” similar to areas in Gaza that have been devastated by Israeli bombing and ground offensives.
The analysis also highlights attacks on medical facilities, mirroring reports from Gaza. These attacks allegedly included sieges of hospitals, obstruction of ambulances, targeting of medical personnel, and even the use of a health center as a detention and interrogation site.
According to the United Nations, at least 40,000 Palestinians living in the West Bank refugee camps have been displaced as a result of Operation Iron Wall.
The findings raise serious concerns about the escalating conflict and the humanitarian impact of Israeli operations in the West Bank, drawing parallels to the destruction and displacement witnessed in Gaza.
