**Hyderabad, India – May 28, 2025** – The Telangana State government has officially approved the establishment of a new Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) campus in Mahabubnagar. The administrative sanction, announced Wednesday by Secretary Yogita Rana, follows proposals from the Telangana Council of Higher Education and the Commissioner of Technical Education (CTE) recognizing the need for a dedicated campus in the region.

The new RGUKT campus is slated to open its doors in the 2025-26 academic year, initially offering three highly sought-after Computer Science and Engineering programs: Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning), and Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science). Specifics regarding the campus budget and staffing requirements will be released at a later date.

The government order directs the Vice Chancellor of RGUKT Basar and the CTE to proceed with further necessary actions for the campus development.

Simultaneously, RGUKT Basar has released its admission notification for six-year integrated courses.
