Sun May 25 21:15:03 UTC 2025: **Lahore Qalandars Clinch PSL 2025 Title in Thrilling Final, Raza Hits Winning Runs After Whirlwind Journey**
**LAHORE, Pakistan -** In a heart-stopping finish at the Gaddafi Stadium, the Lahore Qalandars defeated the Quetta Gladiators by six wickets to win the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 final. The victory was sealed by all-rounder Sikandar Raza, who smashed a six off the penultimate ball to chase down a record target of 202.
Raza’s dramatic arrival in Lahore, just hours after concluding Test duties with Zimbabwe in the UK, added to the spectacle. He took one wicket and blazed 22 runs off just seven balls, capping off an incredible 24 hours that he described as a whirlwind tour including “dinner in Birmingham, breakfast in Dubai, lunch in Abu Dhabi” before reaching Lahore.
While Kusal Perera’s magnificent 62 laid the foundation for the Qalandars’ chase, alongside solid contributions from Mohammad Naeem and Abdullah Shafique, it was Raza’s heroics that ultimately secured the trophy.
“To have a victory like this, I just have no words,” an elated Raza commented after the match.
The Qalandars finished their innings at 204-4 from 19.5 overs, securing their third PSL title in the last four years. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, who took 3-24 with the ball, becomes the only captain to win three PSL titles.
Earlier in the day, the Quetta Gladiators posted a challenging 201-9, spearheaded by Hasan Nawaz’s brilliant 76 off 43 balls and a quick-fire 28 from Faheem Ashraf.
Kusal Perera was awarded the Player of the Match for his pivotal innings, while Hasan Nawaz was named Player of the Tournament for his consistent performance throughout the competition, amassing 399 runs.
