**Accra, Ghana** – Emirates Airlines has officially launched its first West African travel store in Accra, Ghana, marking a significant investment in the region and a commitment to enhanced customer experience. The state-of-the-art facility provides an immersive and interactive space where travelers can explore Emirates’ services, preview aircraft interiors, and receive expert travel advice.
“This is more than just an office; it’s an experience,” said Adil Al Ghaith, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations – Centre, during the opening ceremony. “Customers can get a feel for flying with Emirates, from seat previews to our A380 lounge concept.”
The Accra store is the fourth of its kind in Africa, following successful launches in Nairobi, Casablanca, and Cairo. The airline cited increased demand for reliable travel information, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic, as a key driver for the expansion. They plan to open another store in Abidjan next.
Emirates has been operating daily flights from Accra since 2004 and sees Ghana as a key market. Country Manager for Ghana, Saood Al Aqili, stated that the store reflects the airline’s growing investment and dedication to providing unmatched experiences for Ghanaian travelers.
The opening was attended by key figures, including Ghana’s Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, and Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abla Dzifa Gomashie. Minister Nikpe emphasized the importance of air travel for trade, tourism, and economic integration, highlighting the government’s efforts to enhance Ghana’s position as a major aviation hub in West Africa, including plans for a new national airline and infrastructure upgrades at Kotoka International Airport.
Al Ghaith hinted at potential future increases in flight capacity from Accra if passenger demand continues to grow. The airline is also encouraging investors to partner with the government to further unlock the aviation industry’s potential.
