**Palarong Pambansa in Ilocos Norte Proceeds After Earthquake; No Injuries Reported**
Laoag City, Ilocos Norte – Despite a magnitude 5.2 earthquake that shook La Union and was felt in Laoag City this morning, the 65th Palarong Pambansa is set to proceed as planned. Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara reported that there were no injuries or major damages following the tremor.

The DepEd’s Incident Command Post (ICP) immediately mobilized the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Regional Safety Officers to inspect playing venues and delegate accommodations. The Ferdinand E. Marcos Memorial Stadium (FEMMS), the venue for the opening ceremony and several sporting events, is also undergoing inspection.
“The Incident Command Post (ICP) has mobilized the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Regional Safety Officers to immediately inspect all billeting and playing venues, including the Ferdinand E. Marcos Memorial Stadium (FEMMS), to ensure the continued safety of all delegates,” DepEd stated.
