Sun May 25 13:10:00 UTC 2025: **Norris Steals Monaco Pole, Hamilton Penalized**

**Monaco** – McLaren’s Lando Norris secured a stunning pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix, ending a two-month drought and denying home favorite Charles Leclerc the top spot. Norris’s record-breaking lap of 1:09.954 edged out Leclerc by a mere 0.109 seconds, with Norris’s McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri securing third.

The qualifying session was not without controversy. Lewis Hamilton initially qualified fourth but was handed a three-place grid penalty for impeding Max Verstappen during Q1, dropping him to seventh. Verstappen will now start alongside Piastri on the second row.

Mercedes endured a dismal qualifying session, with both cars struggling for pace and plagued by mechanical issues. George Russell’s car stopped in the tunnel due to a suspected electrical problem, leading to an early exit.

The Monaco Grand Prix promises to be an exciting race, with a mandatory two-stop pit rule adding a new strategic element to the notoriously difficult track. Watch live on Sky Sports F1 and Main Event, with build-up beginning at 12.30pm on Sunday.
